Data cancer genetics launch blood test for early detection of breast cancer
Apollo
Cancer Centres in association with Data Cancer Genetics has presented a blood
test that may notice breast cancer at an early stage in symptomless people.
The test, EasyCheck-Breast, will
facilitate the detection of breast cancer even before the primary stage and is
accessible altogether in all Apollo Centres across the country.
The launch of EasyCheck Breast marks a
vital success towards quality technological advancements, guaranteeing timely
designation and treatment to lower the death rate, Prathap Reddy, Founder &
Chairman, Phoebus Apollo Hospitals, told newspersons at a conference.
According to Sudha S Murthy, Director,
Clinical Support, Data Cancer Genetics, deaths because of breast cancer in
Asian countries are as high as fifty per cent of incidence, whereas it's a lot
lower in Western countries.
In India, we have a tendency to develop
cancers in late stages, Stage III or IV, whereas within the West, it's a lot earlier because of their strong screening programmes. Therefore, it’s our
responsibility to notice at an early stage. once it's detected early, mortality
is far lesser. The EasyCheck Breast check may be an easy blood test, that is
non-invasive and doesn’t involve radiation or diagnostic procedure.
It is supported by the detection of
current growth cells, that are seen solely in malignancies. The test has been
priced at Rs.6000.
