What is Natural Birth?

To be comprehensive in manner. There’s no such as an “Unnatural Birth.” This terminology refers to specifically giving birth with a vaginal delivery and no medication. They’re often referring specifically to giving birth with the use of little-to-no pain medication. When the “Icchori Community” researched the birth, we came to know that many women prefer more unmediated births.

The Advantages of the Natural Birth:

Ashley Shea, a birth doula, yoga teacher, student midwife, and founder of organic birth, has also observed the same. Women want to move around untethered to machines. They want to stay home as long as possible before heading to the hospital. Women avoid uninterrupted checks or excessively monitored or have too many cervical checks.

Women prefer immediate skin contact with the baby and wait until the cord stops and fluctuates to clamp and cut the cord.

Risks associated with natural birth :

There are a few disadvantages risks associated with natural births. The fundamental problem is when the mother faces a medical problem regarding the child. Other concerns surrounding a vaginal birth include Tears in the vaginal wall, increased pain, bowel issues, and psychological trauma.

Risks associated with epidural birth:

Now, let us discuss epidural birth, as many women are interested to know regarding epidermal birth.

An epidural birth decreases pain in a specific area -in this case, the lower part of the body. Women choose to have one because of medical necessities. An epidural takes about 10 minutes to place and an additional 10-15 minutes to work.

Benefits:

The National Institute of Health reported a 72 percent increase in the number of caesarian deliveries from1997 through 2008. The reason behind this is the painless delivery. While you may still feel contractions, the pain is decreased significantly. General Anesthesia is used sometimes as well, where the mother is not aware of the procedure.

Risks

Doctors suggested that the risk factor includes: Back pain, headaches, persistent bleeding, fever, and breathing difficulties. It is also important to note that, while such risks exist, they are rare. Unlike vaginal births, these are surgeries, so recovery times are longer and there is a risk of infection.

The Bottom Line:

Every human body is complex and there is no one-size-fits-all method for birthing. According to the Office on Women’s health, there are other factors like the overall health and well-being of the mother, the size of the mother’s abdomen, the mother’s intensity level, and the intensity of the contractions. It is best to understand the options and let you know which one is more convenient for your body.
